BEIJING, May 15 (Xinhua) -- Senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official Wang Huning met with Singaporean President Halimah Yacob in Beijing on Wednesday.

Wang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and a member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, called on the two countries to take the joint building of the Belt and Road as an opportunity to carry out high-quality and substantial cooperation, enhance exchanges and mutual learning, and increase coordination in multilateral areas, to bring bilateral relations to a higher level.

Halimah said Singapore is willing to work with China to increase high-level contacts, expand mutually beneficial cooperation and ensure smooth implementation of major projects.
